BetterConsult: Learn More

BetterConsult is a pre-consultation tool that captures your presenting symptoms, medication and other relevant clinical information. It then translates the data into concise medical notes, ready for your appointment.

A more efficient consultation in 3 simple steps…

  1. A patient books an appointment through our existing booking channels (over the phone or HotDoc).
  2. The patient completes a structured multiple-choice questionnaire prior to the consultation. This is sent to you in an SMS 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  3. A concise summary of medical history and symptoms is available to your Doctor prior to your appointment, giving you more time to get the care you need.

If you wish to opt out of receiving the BetterConsult questionnaire, please contact our reception team and let us know. We can submit an exclusion request which will stop any future SMSs from BetterConsult.

What are the benefits of completing the BetterConsult pre-consultation form?

BetterConsult is a pre-consultation form that asks a number of questions your doctor would usually ask about your reason for visit and prepares the notes they usually need to type. By knowing this right away, your doctor can focus on the ideal treatment for your health.

They will also need to spend less time typing so you can have more face-to-face interaction.

BetterConsult also allows you to better consider what you want to discuss with your doctor, and help you think through your symptoms in advance.

How do complete the questionnaire that has been sent to me from BetterConsult?

To access your BetterConsult questionnaire, click the link provided in the SMS sent by your practice.

This will take you to the secure webpage where you can complete the questionnaire.

How long before the consultation do I need to submit the questionnaire?

We encourage you to answer the questionnaire as soon as you receive the SMS, however you are able to submit the questionnaire up until your appointment time.

How long will it take to complete the questionnaire?

It will take you 2-7 mins to complete the questionnaire depending on how many reasons you have for visiting the doctor and the complexity of your medical history.

Can I review the information I submit?

You are able to edit your answers as you progress through your questionnaire. Simply press the “back” button or scroll up to edit.

Once you have completed and submitted the questionnaire you are not able to edit your answers.
