2nd-Time Parents Groups

These are run by our NDC Parent Support Worker, Jayne. We aim to bring 7 parents and their babies together weekly, for 6 weeks. We run this class 4 times a year usually on a Thursday 10am to 11:30am. Our focus is on 2nd-time parents with babies 5 months and under. We also welcome 2nd time, 3rd time, 4th time parents. It is also an excellent way to meet other like-minded parents with similar aged babies (great for families that have moved to Adelaide and are keen to find a new village!).

These are perfect if your feel traditional “Mothers Group” may not be right for you, or have not sat well with you for your previous babies. We are keen to add to your village with like-minded parents. Our classes are:

Within the framing of Neuroprotective Developmental Care parents will learn evidence based approaches to feeding, sleep, settling, development and emotional wellbeing. Over a duration of 6 weeks, Jayne will answer any questions you may have about infant care, bringing 7 parent & baby pairs together for a 90 minute session per week.

The topics discussed in these parents groups will be flexible, according to group needs, but will often cover: adjusting to motherhood; managing extended family dynamics; feeding (bottle and breast); sleep; settling options; parenting values and self-care; starting solids; and anything else you want advice on!

Refreshments and morning tea including tea, coffee, water, and snacks.

Pricing & Cancellation Policy

These groups do not attract a Medicare rebate.

Payment for the full 6 sessions is required up front ($264). Gift cards are available. These groups would make a fabulous baby shower present for a 2nd-time-parent-to-be!

Cancellations for the entire 6 week block:
Cancellations over 24 hours will receive a full refund. Cancellations under 24 hours have an $88 fee.

Bookings

Bookings can be made by calling the clinic. Online bookings are not available for these particular groups.

If you attend this class you will be eligible for a $100 discount for the Circle of Security Parenting Program class.
