Dr Emily Frost

Bsc BMBS DCH FRACGP

Originally from Victoria, Dr Emily Frost graduated from Flinders University Medical School in 2012. She went on to work at the Lyell McEwin Hospital where she gained extended skills in both Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Following this she completed her General Practice training, during which time she also obtained her Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and the FPAA Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Emily has two children with whom she encountered some breast-feeding difficulties. She therefore understands the challenges in sifting through the large amounts of non-evidence based and often contraindicatory advice out there. Following this experience, she endeavoured to become a certified Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) practitioner via the Possums Clinic so she can better assist other families to transition into the world of parenthood more smoothly.

Emily’s focus is on establishing a family’s values and problem solving in a way that aligns with these. She has always found enjoyment in the education aspect of her work as is a firm believer that empowering families to make their own informed parenting choices is essential.

Emily can offer care right throughout a family’s journey, from family planning, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. She offers women’s health and contraception consults, including Implanon and Intrauterine Device (IUD) insertions. She is also working towards becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) so she can further support breast feeding women and their families.
